Natasha

Our sweet old lady of the house has a visit with the doctor today.

Everything is A OKAY, she is just old as water and farts more than she used to. She breathes like an old lady.

This got me to thinking that she has traveled the world, climbs rocks and shreds the trails and got in a few good powder days.

See John has had Natasha since, well the begining of time. A. long. time.

She goes everywhere with us. Everywhere.

She is going to live forever like any great dog should

She will never stray far and latches on to our friends as much as we do. This is our friend Steve who visited us in Mexico one winter.

She goes climbing, watches and worries.

Natasha has our backs. It is that kind of relationship.

She was the cleanest dog in Mexico, for like five minutes....

Top of the Cheif in Squamish, no problem!

Natasha has a thing, she likes to rest her head on J.'s shoes. Don't worry, she is always taken care of. Bed of roses is usually her style.

She will give you kisses if she she can sneak in there, up the nose is where they keep the goods apparently. She will eat your food if it is on the ground...

Mexico was rough sometimes....

What, you looking at me? Mexican bulls eat fine pieces of meat like her for breakfast!

Did I tell you she has been everywhere!

When we lived in the van, we would give her spoons of peanut butter for entertainment.

We also gave her cheese burgers.

She shreds more that I do.

She lived in the van. We all loved the van.

We wanted to live in this van.... they made crepes.

The window where she could see the world whiz by. Miles upon miles.

Chillin' like a villian. She would totally beat both of them at chess if she had a freaking thumb.

Exotic Mexican beaches for this black butt.

She smiles when she is happy.

I love her so stinking much.

Best friends = The God Father.

Old and wise.

She LOVES boats and my Dad.

We love you Natasha and all you silver hair and old lady farts and heavy breathing....

Awww.... a man and his dog.....

She sneaks into hotel rooms... I told she goes everywhere, ninth floor.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Cat Fight - ode to fur

Just when you thought your week was going all nice and smooth like, a complete stranger makes a dumb blond joke in your direction. She is just jealous, blonds have way more fun, curly blonds - well I am not even going to go there, there might be kids in the next room.

So lady with the short dull brown hair who obviously is afraid of blond haired people, let me tell you that my animals are better than yours.

Yep, you heard me.

My fuzzy little fur balls are the coolest critters on the block.

They love my hair.

My dog has lots of love but would probably bark at you and then pee on your car tire.

My cat would try and sumo wrestle your cat or the ferret that you keep on your bed stand.

She would win. My cat is sassy and has a booty to back it up.

----

Because my animals are the bee's knees I wrote a couple of Haiku in honor of them.

---

Natasha is the best dog in the entire world. Hands down.

natasha brings love
love in the form of dog breath
i let her lick me

Sophee is for sale to the highest bidder. Any takers? She is probably too cool for most people to handle.

meet my cat sophee

A taste of freedom

Posted by Picasa
We introduced the little ladies to the vast wilderness of our "front" yard. As soon as they discovered the treats in the soil they picked at the dirt for hours. I tried to work in the garden but was too entertained by their curiosity of the soil. John came home and did the honors of introducing Natasha. He Got her on a leash and she was inched in to them. Sniff. sniff. grunt. grunt. Next thing we know there are birds going ape shit and Natasha has one in her mouth. John got it out before we had a limp chick. Natasha got a taste of dirt and John's wrath. All is well.
Speaking of Natasha, John was telling me about the first time that she saw cows at the Stiles Ranch. I guess she took off and chased them with all her might. The next thing they knew there were cattle tangled up in barb wire and Natasha looking innocent. Oh Natasha!

Jack frost

Bellingham has been hit by Jack Frost. I am beginning to enjoy it! I think it is just beautiful! It tends to be a bit chaotic in Bellingham with this weather, lack of snow plows, lack of people with experience with snow driving abilities, and so on. I do enjoy the fact that weather like this puts life on hold. Shops close, restaurants close, people hibernate, people go sledding in the roads. It is fun. The novelty of snow does not wear off year to year.

The view this morning, after another 6 inches fell over night!

We took Natasha out to Lake Padden yesterday for a hike. It was great!

John said yesterday that he wishes that the snow would stick around, that we had more of a winter in town.
HHMMMMMMmmmmm.....
This is the first time that I have actually agreed with him. It would sure beat the rain.
This might be our next move....

Our little princess!
What a sweetie!
She has found the warmest place in the house, cuddled up in the down blanket.
She is a princess too, in her own sort of crazy cat way...

John and I have made tamales over the holidays a couple of times. Jess has been really excited about making them with me. Saturday night we got together and made a batch of yummy pork tamales from scratch. Kudos to Jess for wanting to take on such a grand task. They really are worth every penny the little Mexican ladies sell them for. AND they taste way better made by these wonderful women.... because they are not scared to use lard (the key ingredient!).
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!
