A great extension of Tender at the Bone. She is an amazing woman. |
Ruth Reichl is a brilliantly captivating writer capable of entertaining and losing us in her natural passion for food. Great read. |
My nose is currently so deep in this book I can hardly breathe. I am on the verge of collecting every book that Ruth has written. More to come when I can put the book down...
Well I put the book down, only after I read every last word. I proceed to follow her blog and Twitter. I may be a virtual stalker. I may start writing about restaurants..... I am really showing some restraint by not ordering her other books. Please help! |

One review stated "In this classic collection of magazine articles, Ephron does what she does best: embrace American culture with love, cynicism, and unmatched wit." Great read |

I love this woman. She is wildly brilliant, witty and one hell of a profound writer. The first of all of her books that I am going to read. It is that good. |
The Butcher and the Vegetarian - Tara Austen Weaver. I plowed through this book and then wrote a mushy email to Tara the author. I want to be friends. I follow her blog |
Will Write for Food - Dianne Jacob. If you write, want to write or even ever considered it in any way shape or form you must read this book. It is extremely informative and a great read. |
The Color Purple - Alice Walker. I know that I have read this book before or like many other book, I have started it at some point. I came across my current copy at a garage sale last summer, someone was getting rid of their text books. Recently I heard a song, I recognized the lyrics and realized that someone had turned one of the "chapters" into a sweet little song. I love the style, speed and the hard subject matter.

The Giver - Lois Lowery - I read this in middle school and loved it. I read it again, with purpose this time and loved it even more. It is a classic story. |
The Poisonwood Bible - Barbra Kingsolver.
It took me nearly three (3!) years to read this book! I should clarify, it took three years to read the first half of the book, I finished the second half in a week. It is a solid read, thought provoking and worth the time. I would recommend this book, but please take less than three years to read it! |
